Worktank at Sundance with Low-Cost Rich-Media Tools
SEATTLE -- Launched in the midst of a recession economy, Worktank Enterprises grew rapidly in 2001 unlike many technology-focused companies. The "worktank" model was the foundation for that growth.
"We've developed a network of top professionals who can be assembled at a moment's notice depending on client needs--we call it a worktank," said Melinda Partin, CEO of Worktank. "They're people who have been working for companies like Microsoft, Fox TV, NBC, KCTS, K2, Corbis, Wizards of the Coast, HarperCollins, Nintendo, Entros, Boeing, Lucent Technologies, and RealNetworks."
"We build worktank 'dream teams' because of the fantastic skill sets these people bring to the table without any of the window dressing you'd find at an agency. We're talking almost zero overhead. No fancy offices and great value for the money," said Worktank president Leslie Rugaber. "These pros understand every nuance of new media and technology."
This is why Worktank is at the Sundance Film Festival, streaming content live from the Digital Media Center. Worktank's people and their experience in rich media--visual communications that can include interactive content, video, audio, writing, editing, encoding, or streaming--got them the job.
"We also develop and design CDs and DVDs and do film and video production," said Partin.
"Worktank helps companies work smart by using technology to create and deliver communications in any format a company wants," said Rugaber. "Most often, it's done by integrating existing media with Web and video production. We produce content for any screen, from the computer to the TV."
