Worktank Wins Three MarCom Awards
Worktank announces its nomination for both Platinum and Gold MarCom Creative Awards, an international competition acknowledging the achievements of marketing and advertising professionals. In 2005, the MarCom Creative Awards received 4,613 entries from the United States along with several countries around the world. The most prestigious award, the Platinum, was awarded Worktank's video "Microsoft Research Overview: Turning Ideas into Reality." The video emphasized Microsoft's advanced technology and continued search to develop unique, innovative solutions to our technology problems. Only 15% of entries received the Platinum award. The Gold award was presented to only 16% of entries for work that exceeded their high expectations. Recognizing Worktank's Web site expertise and extensive research into understanding Datalight's customers and concerns, Worktank received a Gold award for the Datalight Web site redesign. The MarCom Creative Platinum and Gold Awards praise the work of advertising and public relations agencies, communications departments, educational institutions, designers, writers, and video production professionals from around the world.
Also for "Microsoft Research Overview: Turning Ideas into Reality," Worktank received a Silver award from the International Davey Awards competition. The International Davey Awards received over 2,000 entries from ad agencies, interactive agencies, production firms, in-house creative professionals, graphic designers, design firms, and public relations firms last year. Entries were judged by acclaimed media, advertising, and marketing professionals dedicated to embracing progress and evolving both traditional and interactive media including Yahoo!, Polo Ralph Lauren, ADWEEK, Coach, MTV, Victoria's Secret, HBO, and Myspace.com. The judges for each category determine the standards of excellence to use for judging. Scores for the Silver awards range from 7-9 out of 10, and the Gold awards received scores of 9 or above. The director of Davey Awards members, Linda Day, noted, "The Academy judged a remarkable pool of entries characterized by creative excellence, fresh ideas, and great conceptual execution." She added, "On behalf of the entire Academy, we are honored to select such a diverse and accomplished pool of winners."
