Worktank Sparks Up Datalight with New Web Site

Datalight, a small technology company started in 1983, sells embedded-system software equipment that increases the value of other companies' products. Their reputation grew with their core product Rom-Dos that Canon, Intel, and Symbol utilized to reduce production time and enter the market more rapidly. Datalight became known for their Rom-Dos product and developed a reputation as a reliable, cost-effective, computer software company. Datalight currently has relationships with Microsoft, Wind River, Accelerated Technology, BSQUARE, Intel, NEC, Hitachi, and many other worldwide software, microprocessor, Flash component and embedded-device manufacturers.

As they developed new products, Datalight found difficulties expanding their image beyond their key product, Rom-Dos. Their Web site primarily focused on Rom-Dos and lacked an explanation of their future plans and desires. Datalight wanted their Web site to reflect their vision of where they wanted to go rather than where they had been. Their Web site also served as a delivery system for products and support but was tedious and difficult for their customers to use. But with their Web site at that time, they were unable to grow, expand, discover new clients and opportunities, and expose their new products.

To redevelop their Web site and overall image, Datalight teamed up with Worktank Creative Media for our creative storytelling ability and technological expertise. Worktank Creative Media began the redesign of Datalight's Web site by creating a unique, intriguing story and developing a way to tell it throughout the site. Worktank Creative Media focused on creating a powerful story to reach Datalight's clients and draw more attention to the company's new products and services. Datalight expressed a desire to showcase their new products: Flash Fx, a device driver for Flash memory, and Reliance, an operating system built for embedding devices. Within the new Web site, Worktank drew the viewer's focus to the new products and thus expanded Datalight's opportunities.

Not only did Worktank Creative Media create a story presenting their new product line, we simplified their Web site administration tools. To ease the lives of Datalight's small three-person Web site team, Worktank Creative Media created administration tools for editing Web pages, monitoring their events and press releases, and creating landing pages to advertise special promotions.

Just as we simplified the lives of Datalight's Web team, we utilized their Web site to simplify their customers' lives. We developed specialized content for individual users called My Datalight which allows customers to create an account with Datalight. By making the ordering process easier, we increased the customer's desire to work with Datalight. My Datalight serves as their system for sending out products, capturing leads, and retaining customers. As their customers create their specialized accounts, they return to the Web site for quick and simple purchasing of both new and exciting products and the dependable tried-and-true. Due to their new Web site and its revised administration tools, their prospects have increased as people gain a better and more comprehensive understanding of what the company has to offer. Datalight has presented themselves in a new light through their story told uniquely and simply throughout their wonderfully revamped Web site.
